Incident Details
The pair, both dressed in black, were filmed kissing and caressing each other on the mattress, seemingly oblivious to the families around them. The woman's low-cut top and exposed waist drew attention, and the couple even left their shoes on a nearby display bed. Witnesses reported they appeared completely lost in the moment.
The mother who filmed the video said her child spotted the couple and ran to her, calling the scene "disgusting." She posted the clip on Threads with the caption, "Go home, get in the car, or rent a room."
Public Reaction
Social media users reacted strongly, with many declaring "IKEA is not a hotel" and criticizing the couple's lack of boundaries. Some suggested the store should post signs prohibiting such behavior on the mattresses.
Under Taiwan's public indecency law, the couple could face up to a year in prison or a fine of around £220. Neither IKEA nor local police have issued an official comment.
