Ousmane Dembele has confirmed he is fit and ready for the Champions League final against Arsenal, despite an injury scare in Paris Saint-Germain's final Ligue 1 match. The French winger was substituted after just 26 minutes against Paris FC, but has assured fans the issue is minor.
“I’m doing very well. I had a slight scare against Paris FC, but I’m fine and I’ll be ready for the final,” Dembele said. “Will I be 100 per cent for the final? Yes, I think so. Yes, I’ll be ready. I have no doubt about it. I hope to be on the pitch on May 30th.”
The 29-year-old, who won the Ballon d'Or last year, has enjoyed another stellar season, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions. He helped PSG secure the Ligue 1 title and a place in the Champions League final.
PSG manager Luis Enrique also praised Arsenal and their manager Mikel Arteta ahead of the final. “If you look at Arteta's stats, there you have it. He's a leading manager who, since taking over at Arsenal, has changed the team's mentality,” Enrique said. “Without the ball, they're the best team in Europe in terms of goals created and received. And he's won the Premier League, which is a very high-level competition.”
