Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Cole Palmer is available for Saturday's Premier League match against Everton, but admitted the forward finished Thursday's training with a 'mixed feeling'. Palmer, who recently returned from a groin injury that kept him out for over two months, had his comeback delayed by a fractured toe.
The England international missed Chelsea's 2-1 Champions League defeat to Atalanta earlier this week as part of a plan to manage his minutes and avoid further setbacks. Maresca, named Premier League Manager of the Month for November on Friday, said: 'Yep, he is OK. He is better. He is at the moment available. We have one more session this afternoon. Yesterday he finished the session with us with a mixed feeling, but he is okay.'
Defender Wesley Fofana is also available after being substituted against Atalanta with an eye injury. Maresca confirmed: 'He's available. He's fine. He took part in the session yesterday. He is completely fine.' Trevoh Chalobah and Enzo Fernandez, both withdrawn against Atalanta due to minutes management, are also fit for the weekend.
However, striker Liam Delap will miss the match after suffering a shoulder injury in the first half of last weekend's goalless draw at Bournemouth. Maresca said the striker could be out for two to four weeks. Delap joins long-term absentees Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill on the sidelines, while Dario Essugo is still recovering from thigh surgery. Moises Caicedo will serve the third and final match of his domestic suspension.
