Kai Havertz scored in the seventh minute of added time to give Arsenal a 1-0 win on the night and a 4-2 aggregate victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium. The goal, a clinical finish after a counter-attack led by Declan Rice, sealed Arsenal's place in next month's final at Wembley.
Arsenal dominated the tie from the first leg at Stamford Bridge, where they won 3-1, and were rarely troubled in the second leg. Chelsea failed to register a shot on target and struggled to create any meaningful chances, with their attacking play described as 'clueless' and 'devoid of intensity'.
Despite Chelsea's late pressure, including a free-kick from Cole Palmer and a header from David Fofana, Arsenal's defence held firm. The visitors' best chance came when Fofana guided a shot wide from a Fernandez cross, but they could not find a way past David Raya.
Arsenal now await the winner of the other semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle United. The Gunners are seeking their first trophy since 2020 and remain in contention in all four competitions they entered this season.
