Bruno Fernandes hints at possible Manchester United exit

Bruno Fernandes has admitted he would understand if Manchester United decided to sell him this summer, in a bombshell revelation following the club's Europa League defeat to Tottenham. The United captain, who turns 31 in September, said he would accept the hierarchy's decision if they wanted to recoup money for him.

Speaking after the 1-0 loss in Bilbao, Fernandes stated: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it is what it is. I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go." His current contract has two years left with a one-year extension option.

Fernandes also backed under-pressure manager Ruben Amorim, insisting he is the right man for the job despite poor results. "We all agree that he's the right man," Fernandes said. "I do think the manager is the right one and I don't think that it will be a better person to come into the job."

The midfielder described the defeat to Spurs as "cruel" and lamented missing the chance to make history in the Europa League. Manchester United now face a season without any European football, which could influence the club's decision on Fernandes' future.
