Darts icon Bobby George has offered some straight-talking advice to teenage sensation Luke Littler, urging him to avoid the pitfalls of fame and fortune. The 80-year-old, known as the 'King of Bling', spoke to the Daily Mail after Littler won his second straight World Darts Championship, defeating Gian van Veen 7-1 to cement his status as the sport's leading player.
George advised Littler to keep his feet on the ground, saying: "Don't grow up. You'll never be skint if you don't grow up. No girls, no flash cars, no hangers-on. Just do your f***ing thing and have your bubble gum." He warned that success can be fleeting, adding: "In darts, you can go from hero to zero overnight."
Littler's victory boosted his career prize money to £3.3 million, having turned professional just two years ago. The 2026 world title earned him £1 million, thanks to a lucrative new deal with Sky Sports. In contrast, George took home just £16,000 for his runner-up finish at the 1994 BDO World Championship.
Despite his wealth, Littler insists that becoming a back-to-back world champion is more meaningful than the cash. He admitted he had "no idea" how he would spend his winnings, noting he cannot buy a new car until his insurance is up to date. After a short holiday, Littler will return to action with World Series events in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia later this month.
