Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Predicted lineups for El Clasico

El Clasico returns on Sunday with both Barcelona and Real Madrid set to be missing key players for the top-of-the-table clash.

Barcelona enter the match with a six-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, giving the visitors little room for error as they aim to keep pace with a Raphinha-inspired side.

Real Madrid's injury and suspension concerns

Real Madrid will be without Ferland Mendy, Raul Asencio and Rodrygo through injury. Vinicius Junior is also absent, serving a suspension after being sent off against Villarreal.

Those absences force a reshuffle. Arda Guler is expected to start in a wide area, opening a space for Bernardo Silva at the base of midfield. Yan Diomande takes the opposite flank, with Jude Bellingham as the No.10 and Kylian Mbappe leading the line.

Fede Valverde, used as an auxiliary right-back against Leipzig midweek, should continue in that role, with Marc Cucurella returning at left-back.

Barcelona's team news

Barcelona are without Dani Olmo, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia, while Jules Kounde is a doubt with an ankle injury and is not expected to be involved.

Joao Cancelo and Xavi Espart are set to start at full-back. Lamine Yamal and Anthony Gordon take the wings, with Raphinha leading the attack as he looks to extend his goalscoring form.

Barcelona predicted XI: J Garcia; Cancelo, Cubarsi, Martin, Espart; Rodri, Pedri; Yamal, Fermin, Gordon; Raphinha

Injured: Olmo, Barghji, Christensen, E. Garcia, Kounde

Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois; Valverde, Konate, Huijsen, Cucurella; Tchouameni, Bernardo Silva; Guler, Bellingham, Diomande; Mbappe

Injured: Asencio, Mendy, Rodrygo

Suspended: Vinicius Jr

The match kicks off at 8pm BST on Sunday, October 25 at the Spotify Nou Camp, and will be broadcast on Premier Sports 1.
