Australian teenager Antonio Arena made a stunning impact on his debut for Roma, scoring with his first touch after coming off the bench. The 16-year-old headed in to equalise against Torino in the Italian Cup round-of-16 match, but Torino secured a 3-2 victory with a late goal.
Born in Sydney, Arena has dual citizenship and has represented both Australia and Italy at youth international level. He joined Roma in July 2025 after stints with Western Sydney Wanderers and Pescara, where he became the youngest-ever goalscorer for the club in Serie C.
Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini praised Arena's competitive drive and energy, noting his fearlessness despite his young age. The teenager's debut goal came in the 81st minute, but Torino's Emirhan Ilkhan struck a winner in the 90th minute.
