Manchester United take on Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital tonight in one of the standout fixtures of Champions League matchday two, hoping to make it two wins from two on their return to European football's top table.
Remarkably, United have not won a game in any competition since beating Sabah on matchday one of this season's league phase.
United's poor run and Atletico's form
Winless in four, United's 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham confirmed the club's worst start to a Premier League campaign in 40 years, but Michael Carrick's job as head coach is reportedly safe.
Atletico, beaten by Arsenal in last season's semi-final, have won their last four LaLiga matches in a row to emerge as Barcelona's closest challengers, even if they trail the leaders by five points. However, Diego Simeone's side did lose their opening game of the Champions League campaign away at Liverpool despite taking the lead through Marcos Llorente.
Head-to-head and how to watch
Interestingly, United are yet to beat Atletico in four attempts. Tonight's showdown at the Metropolitano will be just the third time the teams have met since 1991, with the visitors out to avenge their round of 16 exit from the 2021-22 campaign.
The game will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, with coverage starting at 6.30pm BST ahead of an 8pm kick-off. Subscribers can watch on a live stream via the Amazon Prime Video website or app. All the action can also be followed with Standard Sport's LIVE blog.
