Manchester City travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League's lunchtime kickoff at Villa Park, aiming to extend their winning run to eight matches. City were at their ruthless best on Tuesday night, thrashing AEK Athens 5-1 in the Champions League, a result made more impressive by the several changes Enzo Maresca made, notably resting Erling Haaland.
Team News and Availability
Haaland is available again to face Villa and should start. However, forward Antoine Semenyo remains sidelined with a leg injury. City will make late decisions on Mateo Kovacic, Nico O'Reilly and Matheus Nunes before the game, with all three doubts after missing the midweek win. Nunes was the only one not spotted in training on Thursday.
As for Villa, they have yet to win at home in the Premier League this season. However, they were victorious over Viking on home soil in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Unai Emery could call on former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, though he has not made a Premier League matchday squad since the beginning of September.
Match Odds and How to Watch
Ahead of the early kickoff, bet365 are offering odds of 7/2 for a Villa win, 10/3 for a draw, and 13/20 for a City win. Supporters in the UK can watch the lunchtime kickoff on TNT Sports 1 and Ultimate, with streaming available on HBO Max.
Villa are unbeaten since a 2-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest last month, a result that is significant as they have yet to win at home in the league this season. City are in buoyant mood and will fancy their chances of stretching their 100 per cent record in the top flight to eight matches.
