Arsenal will make a late decision on the fitness of Kai Havertz and Ezri Konsa for Saturday's Premier League clash with Leeds. Havertz picked up a hamstring injury while on Germany duty, while Konsa withdrew from the England camp having been dealing with a dead leg. Neither player was seen in footage of Arsenal's training session on Thursday, and both are doubts for Leeds' visit on Saturday lunchtime.
Arteta's selection update
"We will see tomorrow," Mikel Arteta said at his press conference on Friday. Christos Tzolis has been ruled out for "a few weeks" with a hamstring problem of his own, meaning Eberechi Eze is set to get a run on the left wing.
If Havertz is ruled out this weekend, Viktor Gyokeres is likely to lead the line after scoring four goals in as many matches for Sweden during the international break. Declan Rice pulled out of the England squad ahead of their four matches, though that was due to load management rather than a fresh injury concern.
Rice's fitness and midfield options
"Yeah, we have to manage him because he's been with a few issues since he came back from the World Cup, and we know the amount of games that he's played in the last three years. So, yes, it was a sensible thing to do, and hopefully tomorrow he's available and some others that as well are in doubt." Declan Rice is expected to start for Arsenal at home to Leeds.
Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie are all available for the Gunners. It is likely to be a straight choice between Myles Lewis-Skelly and Bruno Guimaraes in midfield alongside Rice. Guimaraes struggled in Arsenal's last match against Brighton, but Arteta could opt to give that midfield pairing another go.
