Arsenal have reportedly held talks with AC Milan officials regarding a potential transfer for midfielder Sandro Tonali. The Gunners, who have already made several high-profile signings this summer, are keen to bolster their squad further under manager Mikel Arteta.
Tonali, 22, played a key role in Milan's Serie A title win last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. The Italian international is under contract until 2027, but Milan may consider selling if Arsenal meet their £46 million asking price, according to reports from Calcio Mercato.
Milan manager Stefano Pioli is reluctant to lose Tonali, especially after the departure of Franck Kessie to Barcelona. However, Arteta's determination to add a central midfielder could see a deal materialise before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal have already spent significantly this summer, bringing in Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, and Marquinhos. Tonali would be another major addition as the club looks to build on last season's fifth-place finish.
