Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has been banished from first-team training by his current club Monterrey in Mexico after an explosive touchline tantrum during a recent match, according to reports from Mexican media.
Touchline Outburst Leads to Exile
The incident occurred during Monterrey's 3-2 defeat to rivals Chivas de Guadalajara last Sunday. Martial, who was on the substitutes' bench, reportedly reacted with fury when manager Nicolas Sanchez opted to bring on youngster Joaquin Moxica in the 74th minute instead of him.
Mexican outlet TUDN claims the 30-year-old French striker threw a strop on the bench, visibly losing his temper at being overlooked. He remained an unused substitute for the remainder of the game, with Monterrey staff witnessing his meltdown.
Immediate Consequences
In response to his behaviour, Monterrey's management has taken decisive action. Martial has been ordered to train separately from the main squad for the rest of the week, effectively exiling him from first-team activities as punishment for his touchline conduct.
This disciplinary measure represents another low point in Martial's career, which has seen a steady decline since his departure from Manchester United. The striker has managed just one goal in his last 21 appearances for Monterrey, highlighting his ongoing struggles for form and confidence.
