Shocking footage has emerged placing Western Bulldogs prodigy Jamarra Ugle-Hagan at the centre of a terrifying nightclub shooting that has rocked Melbourne's nightlife scene.
The 19-year-old number one draft pick was present at the notoriously exclusive Love Machine nightclub in Prahran when a gunman opened fire in the early hours of the morning. Dramatic CCTV footage obtained by investigators shows patrons, including the young footballer, diving for cover as loud shots ring out through the venue.
Victoria Police confirmed they are investigating the incident, which left two men with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify the shooter, who fled the scene before officers arrived.
Star Player Unharmed But Shaken
While physically unharmed, Ugle-Hagan is understood to have been left shaken by the traumatic event. The Western Bulldogs have been made aware of the incident and are providing support to their young player.
"The club is aware of an incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning involving Jamarra Ugle-Hagan," a club spokesperson stated. "Jamarra is safe and is receiving the full support of the club. As this is now a police matter, the club will not be making any further comment at this time."
A Notorious Venue's Dark History
The shooting has cast a renewed spotlight on the security and clientele of the Love Machine venue. The nightclub was previously the site of a deadly shooting in 2019 that claimed two lives, raising serious questions about its ongoing operation.
Local residents and business owners have expressed outrage and concern over the latest incident, calling for a review of the venue's licence and increased police presence in the area.
The AFL Integrity Unit is monitoring the situation closely. While Ugle-Hagan is not suspected of any wrongdoing, his presence at the venue will likely prompt discussions with club officials about player conduct and safety protocols away from the field.
The investigation continues as police urge any witnesses to come forward.
