Distressing scenes emerged at the World Cup as Canada star Ismael Kone was stretchered off the field with what appeared to be a broken leg during his side's match against Qatar. The midfielder waved to fans as he was taken along the sidelines after a challenge from Qatar's Assim Madibo, who was subsequently sent off.
Kone was given oxygen to help manage the pain he was in. Canada's assistant manager was heard saying, "His leg's hanging off. His leg is broken. His leg is broken, man."
