Oleksandr Usyk solidified his status as one of the great heavyweights by demolishing Daniel Dubois in five rounds at Wembley Stadium. The Ukrainian dominated from the first bell, dropping Dubois twice in the fifth round to secure a devastating knockout victory.
After the fight, Usyk, now 38, said he wanted to rest and return home to his family. When pressed on potential future opponents, he named Tyson Fury, Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua, and Joseph Parker. “Maybe Tyson Fury,” he said, reigniting talk of a trilogy fight.
Dubois, suffering his third career defeat, vowed to come back. “I gave everything I had,” he said. “There were some things I could have sharpened up on, but I’ll be back.” The Londoner had earlier questioned whether a low blow had affected the outcome, but the referee ruled the shot legal.
Dubois had rebuilt his career since his previous stoppage loss to Usyk in 2023, with wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and Anthony Joshua. However, he could not solve Usyk’s puzzle this time, as the Ukrainian’s elite footwork and power proved decisive.
On the undercard, Lawrence Okolie extended his heavyweight unbeaten run to three with a points win over Kevin Lerena, while Lewis Edmondson suffered his first defeat to Daniel Lapin. Solomon Dacres also earned a decision victory over Vladyslav Sirenko.
