Tyson Fury has declared that 2026 will be his final year in boxing. The 37-year-old, who faces Mariusz Wach in Thailand today, told The Sun: "This is my final year. That's why I want to be active. I don't want to go on until I'm 65 years old."
The Gypsy King, who has retired multiple times before, confirmed: "This is the last year, yeah. Final year, 26." Fury last fought in April, securing a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after a 16-month hiatus.
Fury is scheduled to meet Anthony Joshua later this year, with both fighters in action this weekend. Joshua faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The fight, which is expected to be confirmed after both bouts, could take place at Wembley Stadium, according to Turki Al-Sheikh.
Fury, who has not fought more than twice in a calendar year since 2018, hinted at a busy schedule. "I just want to keep busy, keep active. It's not about money, it's not about belts... It's about enjoying my life," he said.
