Tommy Fury has insisted his long-awaited boxing match against Jake Paul will go ahead next month, vowing to 'dismantle' the YouTuber-turned-fighter. The bout, scheduled for 26 February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been postponed twice before, leading Paul to express doubts over whether it will finally happen.
However, the 23-year-old half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury told BBC Newsbeat his training regimen is 'rigorous' and does not bode well for his opponent. 'By the time I get in the ring I'll be an absolute specimen and I'll be able to dismantle this man very quickly and very early,' he said.
Fury, who recently became a father with girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, also brushed aside claims that his focus might be split. While he acknowledged family is 'far more important than a boxing match', he insisted his personal life would not affect his preparation. Paul had publicly revealed the birth and accused Fury of being 'the runt of the Fury family' and a 'spray tanner'.
Responding to the jibes, Fury said he feels no pressure from his famous surname. He joked that unlike his brother Tyson, he will not be singing after any potential victory. 'I don't want to burst anybody's eardrums and you definitely don't want to hear me sing,' he said.
Regarding the fight's location in Saudi Arabia, which has faced criticism over its human rights record, Fury said he is indifferent. 'I don't care, I'd fight this man on the moon and fight him in the parking lot outside. If it's Saudi, I'm happy to be coming to Saudi, putting on a show for everybody,' he added.
