Ricky Hatton, the former world champion boxer found dead at his home in Manchester on Sunday, had a love life as eventful as his career. The 46-year-old, who retired from boxing in 2012, was involved with several high-profile women, including his Dancing On Ice co-star Claire Sweeney.
Hatton and Sweeney, a Coronation Street actress, began a romance in January 2024 while competing on the ITV show. They had known each other for 25 years, but split in December 2024 after eight months together. A source told the Daily Mail they remained good friends, with no falling out.
Before Sweeney, Hatton dated Playboy model Chelsea Claire, who was 14 years his junior. Their brief fling began in summer 2023 and ended later that year due to work commitments. A source described it as 'more of a fling' and said Hatton focused on training.
In July 2022, Hatton went public with beauty therapist Angela Blemmings, sharing a romantic trip to Dublin. They split the following year. He also faced claims of cheating on his long-term fiancée Jennifer Dooley with an Irish boxer during his struggles with drug addiction.
Hatton leaves behind three children: son Campbell, who retired from boxing in July to become a solar panel installer, and daughters Millie and Fearne. His death has shocked the sports and showbiz world, with a police cordon around his home.
