Tyson Fury has taunted Oleksandr Usyk by calling him a 'useless piece of s***' in a fresh video message as he prepares for their undisputed heavyweight title fight on February 17th in Saudi Arabia. The bout was originally scheduled for the end of December but was pushed back after Fury was pushed to the limit by former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in October.
Fury flew out to Saudi Arabia on New Year's Eve to continue his preparations for the fight. In a video posted online, the 'Gypsy King' is seen running through the mountains, vowing to 'smash Usyk's little rabbit face right in'. The caption read: 'Working hard for the undisputed heavyweight championship 2024' along with the hashtag 'run rabbit run'.
Fury's father John criticised his son's performance against Ngannou, which saw the unbeaten Brit look far from his best. Fury admitted that Ngannou, making his boxing debut, was his toughest opponent in a decade. The fight has led some observers to change their predictions, including former world champion Carl Froch, who now believes Usyk will win.
Froch told talkSPORT: 'I'm picking Usyk for that one, just because of where Tyson Fury is mentally. Hopefully Fury can have a good camp and rekindle some of his old greatness… but at the minute I think Usyk wins that fight.'
