Jake Paul has hit back at claims he was planning to pull out of his upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua, branding the suggestions 'ridiculous'. The YouTuber-turned-boxer will face Joshua in a 10-round heavyweight contest in Miami on December 19, streamed live on Netflix.
Speculation arose after Paul teased a major announcement, but he clarified it was the signing of world champion Caroline Dubois to his Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) roster. Dubois, an undefeated lightweight champion, will defend her title against Camilla Panatta on the same card.
Paul said: 'You dummies thought I was going to pull out of the fight? Ridiculous. I’m just building. Five years in. Creating a roster of the best.' He added that Dubois was 'the most coveted free agent in women’s boxing' and praised her as a 'champion, an Olympian and a rising star'.
Dubois, who is unbeaten in 12 professional bouts, expressed her excitement at joining MVP, stating: 'Signing with MVP is the next step in my career... The mission must be to become the face of women's boxing.' She will make her MVP debut on the undercard of the Paul-Joshua clash.
