Since their sole World Cup triumph in 1966, when England also hosted the tournament, the team's best performances have been semi-final appearances in 1990 in Italy and 2018 in Russia. Additionally, England's men's team has reached the quarter-finals on seven other occasions, most recently in Qatar in 2022.
