The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 53-year-old partner, who was with her at the time of the fall, was reported to be unharmed. A spokesperson for the Civil Guard stated that they are treating her death “as a tragic accident resulting from a fall” and confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has confirmed their involvement in the matter. Officials are in contact with local authorities to provide support and gather further information. The FCDO spokesperson said, “We are supporting the family of a British woman who has died in France and are in touch with the local authorities.”
