Amy Hunt wins 200m gold at European Athletics Championships

Amy Hunt has won gold in the 200m final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, adding to her 100m title from earlier in the week.

Double gold for Hunt

The 24-year-old powered to victory in the 100m final on Tuesday, finishing two-hundredths of a second ahead of Ewa Swoboda. She described it as "a coming of age moment for her" after only managing silver at the recent Commonwealth Games.

There was no time to celebrate, as she had to refocus for the 200m final this evening.

Burgin injury

Britain were hoping for more Hunt magic after Max Burgin was forced to withdraw from the 800m final due to a knock picked up in the warm-up. He had only just overcome a virus to compete.

More updates on this breaking story will follow.
