Trump aide's 'lovesick' letter exposed by commentators

Two Trump commentators have revealed a "lovesick" letter allegedly sent to Donald Trump by his devoted aide, Natalie Harp. The claims come amid intensified speculation about Harp's relationship with the president, following allegations in a 2026 book by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

Allegations in 'Regime Change'

In their book, Regime Change, Haberman and Swan alleged that Harp sent adoring personal messages to Trump. One such note reportedly included the line: "You are all that matters to me." Her "ever-present" role within his inner circle has compounded rumours about their close personal link.

Harp was also known for supplying Trump with laudatory, pre-printed material, earning her the nickname the "human printer." Speculation took a more lurid turn when she was spotted carrying a tote bag during a ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, prompting unsubstantiated online claims that it contained adult nappies for Trump. The rumour led to the crude label "nappy nurse."

Commentators reveal letters

Separately, The Daily Beast's Joanna Coles and Michael Wolff say they have photos of Harp's letters. Michael described them as "kind of extraordinary" and "certainly not professional," adding: "They are the letters of someone who's obviously lovesick. I mean, I can't think of any other word for this."

Joanna claims the letters are "quite long" and doubted Trump would have the "patience" to read them. Michael noted that while we don't know what Trump "has read or not read," the letters are from Harp to him.

Letter details revealed

Joanna quoted a passage from one letter, suggesting it referred to a golfing trip, possibly in Scotland. Harp reportedly wrote: "I always knew coming home to my roots would be enlightening, but I had no idea how much. For the first time in, I don't know how long, you forced me to unplug, we could be out on the course with no machines and even forget what time it was."

She continued: "I didn't have to be human printer. I could get time to enjoy good conversation and still get all my work done at the end of the day. In fact, I even had time to take long morning and evening walks to enjoy each sunrise and sunset, Though I did forget to eat and sleep."

Harp also wrote: "With so much thinking time, I confess it did have a slightly negative effect at times that I know you picked up on, but the end result, I believe, will be worth it." She added: "I had no idea how rapidly I was approaching burnout and starting to envy those whose only job seems to be to talk with you and look pretty. I want that job, So many times, I'm just trying to stay afloat with all that's coming in for you."

She went on: "I look like a hunchback who didn't have time to freshen up (at least you know what I should look like). Plus, I miss the days when you used to call during my talk show days, and we'd talk about everything and nothing. I want to get back to that synergy. We shouldn't have to talk about work all the time."

Joanna asked Michael about the "hunchback" and "at least you know" comments, but he said he wouldn't even "guess." Harp reportedly described feeling like an "inbetweener," somewhere between his staff and those "you enjoy talking to" on the plane or at dinner, as that's who she used to be in her previous role as a talk show host.

In further insight, Harp allegedly said she wishes she could "hear every conversation" as that's when he's having a "good time" and getting "away from it all," at least for a "few moments."
