Jaden Ivey Shares Marriage Update Amid Controversy

Controversial NBA star Jaden Ivey has shared an update on his marriage amid rumored tension following his fiery statements on the Church and the LGBTQ+ community. Ivey posted a picture of himself and his wife, Caitlyn, on Instagram on Monday, where the basketball player had his arm around her.

The couple smiled for the camera as Jaden captioned the photo, 'Thank you Jesus for saving us. Thank you for your mercy and goodness towards us.' He then shared a Bible verse, Proverbs 18:22, which reads 'Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favour of the LORD.' Caitlyn re-posted the image to her own Instagram Story and captioned it with heart emojis and the words 'my love.'

The couple met at Purdue University and share three children: son Noah, 3, daughter Shiloh, 2, and son Isaiah, 13 months. Jaden Ivey and his wife appear to be staying together after his controversial comments. In late March, the Chicago Bulls waived Jaden for 'conduct detrimental to the team' after he appeared on a live stream and made derogatory comments about the NBA's support of Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community.

'The world proclaims LGBTQ, right?' Jaden said on the stream. 'They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, "Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness." They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness.'

The following day, Jaden suggested that Caitlyn was avoiding contact with him after his comments. 'My wife in here, and she not even texting me,' Jaden said. 'Those who are around me, those who are my family members betraying [me] because of what I spoke. The truth. Betraying me. Saying that I'm losing my mind. Saying that I'm crazy. … Those are my own household. All because of the Gospel. All because I said the truth.'

This led to Caitlyn receiving hateful messages in her Instagram DMs from supporters of the former Pistons and Bulls star. Taking to Instagram earlier this month, she wrote: 'We were communicating all morning of that day. People say things for attention, do not be deceived.' She also shared a series of hateful messages she received in her Instagram DMs, where users labelled her a 's*** wife' following Jaden's claims.

'These DM's (and many more) over one lie spoke on my name,' she wrote on her Story. 'If you know me you know I have never abandoned that man through all the trials and I still haven't now. There is obviously a lot more going on, so leave your conspiracies and guesses to yourselves.'

Despite having his life turned upside down after his cut, Ivey then doubled down on his claims in a livestream days later. 'They said your conduct is detrimental to the team,' Ivey said in the self-shot Instagram clip as boarding announcements can be heard in the background. 'I haven't been with the team. I haven't been with the team because I've been rehabbing [my knee injury]. So how's my conduct detrimental to the team?'
