I'm A Celeb Final: Adam Thomas Shunned David Haye's Handshake

An audience member at the I'm A Celebrity live final has revealed that David Haye attempted to reconcile with Adam Thomas during an ad break, but his handshake was refused. The final descended into chaos as campmates continued their disagreements, with Adam Thomas ultimately crowned Jungle Legend despite the on-set bust-up.

Chaos Unfolds On Stage

The mayhem began when David Haye interrupted Adam's interview with hosts Ant and Dec before the winner was announced. The situation escalated when Jimmy Bullard stepped in to voice his concerns about what he described as Adam's 'intimidating' behavior in camp. Both Sinitta and Gemma Collins attempted to storm off the stage, though they held differing views on who was responsible for the uncomfortable scenes, with Gemma supporting Adam and Sinitta siding with Jimmy.

Behind-the-Scenes Drama

While viewers at home were stunned, even more unfolded when cameras weren't rolling. One fan in the audience claimed that David Haye tried to make amends with Adam for his role in the fallout. The former heavyweight boxer attempted to shake hands with his former campmate, but his efforts were rejected. The fan described the scenes, which left Scarlett Moffatt in tears during the ad break, as 'something from Jerry Springer.'

On Instagram, the user explained: 'What you didn't see was that after the first time David was heckling Adam, during the ad break David went over to all the final four on the sofa to say "Hi" and Adam just point blank refused and was like: "No I'm not having this."' They added that it was clear 'something went down' off stage during one of the breaks, with stars returning to the set 'looking very heated.'

Fallout Continues

The fallout shows no sign of abating, with Jimmy calling for ITV to release the unaired footage. However, one expert has placed some blame for the chaotic scenes on presenters Ant and Dec. Qualified psychologist and TV personality Emma Kenny told the Mirror: 'Ant and Dec forgot their roles as presenters. Psychologically speaking, they are authority figures in that environment. They set the tone, they regulate the room, and crucially, they act as the bridge between the contestants and the audience at home.'

She added: 'When tensions rise, it's their job to essentially try to contain, as opposed to contribute to the conflict. But in this final, there were moments where that line didn't just blur, it disappeared completely. They are meant to be the emotional anchors of the show. When they step into the conflict, the entire structure feels less secure, because if the referees are now players, who's actually in control? This is why it descended into chaos.'
