The latest release of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation has drawn connections to prominent figures, including the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and billionaire Bill Gates, according to files published by the Department of Justice.
Mayor's Mother Mentioned in Epstein Email
The Department of Justice made public at least three million new files on Friday from its ongoing investigation into the disgraced financier's sex crimes. Among these documents is a 2009 email from publicist Peggy Siegal to Jeffrey Epstein, which references the attendance of film director Mira Nair at a star-studded gathering.
Siegal wrote to Epstein about an event held at the townhouse of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, stating she had "just left Ghislaine's townhouse...after party for film." The email listed attendees including former President Bill Clinton, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and director Mira Nair, who is the mother of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Details of the 2009 Party
The email suggests the party was for Nair's 2009 adventure-romance film Amelia, starring Hilary Swank and Richard Gere. Siegal provided a critical assessment of the event, noting "film received tepid reaction although women like it much more...Hillary Swank and Gere at stupid party in Bloomingdales cheap sportwear department....very weird."
Siegal concluded the message with "Studio went for free party from store and windows for a month.... Going to be in Wall Street 2 tomorrow ....more to come. xoxo Peg." It is important to note that being named or pictured in the Epstein files does not necessarily indicate any wrongdoing. The Daily Mail has contacted Mayor Mamdani's office for comment regarding this revelation.
Unverified Claims About Bill Gates
The newly released tranche of Epstein documents also contains bombshell allegations concerning Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. The files include emails Epstein sent to himself on July 18, 2013, making astonishing claims about the billionaire.
In one lengthy message, Epstein lashed out at Gates for ending their friendship, writing "TO add insult to the injury you them (sic) implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your penis."
Epstein's Allegations and Gates' Response
Earlier in the same email, Epstein expressed being "dismayed beyond comprehension" by Gates's decision to "disregard our friendship developed over the last 6 years." The shocking emails appear to be drafts of a letter intended to be sent by Gates's then-top advisor, Boris Nikolic, around the time of his resignation from the Microsoft billionaire's charitable foundation.
These claims about the Microsoft founder have not been verified, and Gates has angrily denied them in a rare statement to the Daily Mail. His spokesperson stated: "These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false." The spokesperson added, "The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein's frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame."
The release of these documents continues to shed light on Epstein's extensive network and the controversial allegations contained within the investigation files, while raising questions about the connections between high-profile individuals and the convicted sex offender.
