In a series of images, the lead photograph showcased his striking new appearance. He wrote: 'Yes, I've shaved my hair. I wanted to shave it to signify a fresh start. A lot of new beginnings in my life (at the moment). I love it, thinking of keeping it this way.'

Sheeran also disclosed he has been grappling with shingles, a viral infection characterised by a painful rash. He said: 'I've had shingles for the last month, wouldn't recommend it, but on the mend now.' According to NHS guidance, symptoms include tingling sensations, headaches, and general malaise.

The performer expressed being 'so excited' to return to South American stages after too long away, confirming forthcoming Loop tour dates across Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico, and Chile.
