Daily Mail Sport's outstanding journalism has been celebrated at the prestigious Sports Journalism Awards, often referred to as the industry's Oscars, with two of its writers securing top accolades.
Riath Al-Samarrai Wins Specialist Correspondent Award
Chief Sports Feature Writer Riath Al-Samarrai claimed the Specialist Correspondent award for the second time, following a remarkable year that saw him cover Rory McIlroy's historic Masters victory at Augusta and Europe's dramatic Ryder Cup triumph in New York. He was recognised as the standout writer in a highly competitive field. The award, presented at a ceremony in London on Monday night, was the Mike Dickson Trophy, named after the Mail's late, great Tennis Correspondent.
Charlotte Daly Honoured as Top Young Sportswriter
Charlotte Daly's exceptional boxing coverage earned her the top prize in the Ones To Watch (Writing) category, awarded to the year's best young sportswriter. The trophy is named after Ian Wooldridge, the Mail's peerless columnist, following his death in 2007. Daly was also nominated in two other categories: Content Creator, for her work across Daily Mail Sport's digital platforms, and Content Creator Exclusive, for her one-on-one interview with Anthony Joshua moments after his victory over Jake Paul in December.

In additional recognition of the Mail's sports coverage, Chief Football Reporter Craig Hope secured silver in the Football Journalist category, while James Sharpe earned bronze in the Data Journalist category.
