My Reno Rules Host Chris Brown Clashes with Sponsor Adrian Portelli
Chris Brown Feud with Adrian Portelli Revealed

My Reno Rules host Chris Brown reportedly had a falling out with the renovation show's sponsor, Adrian Portelli, according to a new report. A source told New Idea magazine that the famed TV veteran was not a fan of the high-flying billionaire's 'flashy' style and disapproved of his negative comments about rival show The Block and its host, Scott Cam.

Behind-the-Scenes Tensions

'Let's just say, Chris wasn't a fan [of Portelli] at all,' the insider told the magazine. 'Adrian's flashy persona may make for compelling television, but it didn't exactly win over his co-star.' The source added that Brown, known for being down-to-earth, found Portelli 'over the top' and voiced concern over his remarks about Scott Cam.

'Chris has a strong reputation and is protective of it,' the source said. 'If there's negative press, of course, he'd be mindful of how that reflects on the show – and on him.'

Portelli's Controversial History

The controversial LMCT+ billionaire attacked Channel Nine last year, accusing them of undervaluing his contribution after he spent a whopping $12 million on the 2024 Block auctions. In August, Portelli also targeted Cam online, branding him a 'clown' just weeks before My Reno Rules was scheduled to film.

According to the insider, Brown and Portelli remained professional on-air, but tension was palpable among the cast and crew. Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Seven, Adrian Portelli, and Chris Brown for comment.

Show Details and Ratings

Hyped as a rival to Channel Nine's The Block, My Reno Rules features four teams renovating two rundown properties in Melbourne. Portelli will give away the completed luxury homes, which boast stunning city views. Judges include design guru Neale Whitaker, real estate buyer's agency founder Simon Cohen, and interior stylist Julia Green. Winners receive $1 million, while runners-up get $250,000.

Despite months of promotion, My Reno Rules premiered to disappointing ratings, averaging 638,000 viewers, far behind Nine's Travel Guides, which drew 1,025,000. The show's troubled production also made headlines last year when a builder walked off the set shortly after the announcement.

Known as 'Mr Lambo,' Portelli has heavily promoted himself as a face of the series. According to a Seven statement, part of his role involves managing the show's live prize draw.
