A former Georgia teacher has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student, according to police. Amanda Katz, 55, who worked as a teacher and administrative assistant at Roswell High School, was taken into custody on Tuesday after an investigation revealed her secret sexual relationship with a teenager.

The Roswell Police Department (RPD) stated that Katz was charged with Improper Sexual Contact by an Employee or Agent. The investigation began in early 2026 when the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services referred a report concerning alleged misconduct between Katz and the student. Detectives determined that Katz sexually assaulted the 16-year-old during multiple off-site encounters between 2025 and 2026. Katz resigned from her position as the investigation progressed.
A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was taken into custody with a bond set at $25,000. No further details about the encounters have been released.
