BBC Investigates Naga Munchetty Over Bullying Claims

The BBC has placed presenter Naga Munchetty under review following a series of complaints about alleged bullying behaviour, according to reports. The 50-year-old, who has hosted BBC Breakfast since 2014 and also presents a show on BBC Radio 5 Live, is said to have faced complaints from colleagues about her conduct on both programmes.

A source told The Sun that the review will determine whether a full investigation is necessary, with a decision expected within weeks. The BBC declined to comment on individual cases but stated: “We take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values.”

The development comes amid reports that Munchetty may be considering leaving the BBC, with speculation that her agents have held talks with rival station LBC. It was also claimed that she has a strained relationship with BBC Breakfast editor Richard Frediani, who recently took extended leave after allegations of shouting and swearing at colleagues.

Staff members have defended Frediani, describing him as a “great boss” who is “overwhelmingly loved by the team.” One insider said: “He can be brash and opinionated but works so hard for his team and allows people to flourish.” Another source suggested that some were disappointed with Munchetty for raising concerns, adding: “It feels like it’s a case of presenter power turfing out a brilliant journalist.”
