AFL Stars Allegedly Ripped Off by Channel Nine Prizes

The $100k podcast has alleged that AFL stars are being short-changed by Channel Nine concerning the prize packs promised on the Sunday Footy Show. The broadcaster promotes the segment as offering the 'best prize pack on TV' to a different AFL player each week. However, according to the podcast, some footballers have not received everything that was promised to them.

Nathan Brown Denies Claims

Sunday Footy Show host Nathan Brown has denied the claims that players are not receiving their full prize packs. He clarified that after sending the goods, he has encountered a few bounce backs and return-to-sender issues. 'We have the best prize pack on TV on the Sunday Footy Show and I do a great live read to match it,' Brown told the Herald Sun. 'As you can imagine I don't have time to get to the post office prior to the Sunday afternoon game, as it's a tight squeeze to make sure Daisy doesn't host. From my knowledge no one has missed out, there have been a few bounce backs and return to senders but I have my best people on it moving forward.'

Podcast Investigation Continues

The $100k podcast has promised to continue their investigation after their initial claims were aired on Triple M. Dale 'Daisy' Thomas played a clip on the Triple M radio show where podcasters alleged that players were not receiving the entire prize pack. Before playing the clip, Thomas said, 'It's going to be a big story and it is developing right in front of our very eyes.' In the clip, one of the $100k Sports hosts stated, 'This famous Channel 9 prize package, the biggest prize pack in TV apparently you don't get all of it. The players don't get all of it. So they wind it all out because they get the cash for the on-screen product and then the player doesn't get all of it. So we've got that source. I've had it confirmed this week from another player who was on the Sunday Footy Show in the last two years didn't receive it all. So I am getting to the bottom of it.'

The clip then cut to Mitch Cleary, who said, 'So Jordan Sweet today will be thinking I'll be getting everything. Because that's a couple of players now who have referenced the fact that they haven't got it and these boys want to get to the bottom of it.' Thomas added, 'Under my knowledge they get it all. If you are going to front it and read out all the prizes, it's your responsibility to make sure the guests get all those prizes.'

Brown's claims have not satisfied the podcast hosts, who have vowed to keep pushing in their investigation until they get answers.
