Toni Kroos reveals anger at German journalist after Champions League final interview storm-out

Toni Kroos has explained his frustration after storming out of a post-match interview following Real Madrid's Champions League final victory over Liverpool. The German midfielder reacted angrily to questions from a journalist from his home country, describing them as 's****y' and 'negative'.

Speaking on the 'Einfach mal luppen' podcast, Kroos said he was 'p***** off' at the line of questioning, which he felt focused on Liverpool's pressure rather than Madrid's triumph. He stated: 'You can ask: 'How did you watch the game?' I wouldn't have said we put them against the wall from the first minute until the 90th minute. I'm the first to say it was a close game and Liverpool probably had some chances. But we won the game.'

The 32-year-old, who won his fifth Champions League title, insisted he had no issue with acknowledging Liverpool's quality, but objected to the perceived negativity. 'What do you expect? That we dominate Liverpool during 90 minutes? They're a world-class team. We had to beat them and that's what we did,' he added.

Real Madrid secured a 1-0 victory thanks to Vinicius Junior's second-half strike and a standout performance from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Kroos now has five Champions League titles to his name, alongside the 2014 World Cup he won with Germany.
