Donald Trump has sent an email to supporters requesting $15 donations to help him 'get to heaven', following an assassination attempt last year. The former president claimed God saved him from a bullet to 'make America great again'.
The email, sent by 'Never Surrender, Inc.', described a 24-hour fundraising blitz. Trump wrote that supporters had been with him through impeachments, a 'rigged' election, 'sham' legal cases, and assassination attempts. Federal Election Commission records show the corporation has raised over $1.8 million this year.
Trump previously told Fox and Friends that he wants to get to heaven 'if possible', acknowledging he is 'at the bottom of the totem pole'. He suggested brokering peace between Russia and Ukraine might help his chances.
Christian commentator Russell Moore advised Trump in Christianity Today that entering heaven requires humility, not a transactional mindset. 'You can't get to heaven with the art of the deal,' Moore wrote.
