Gwen Stefani and her husband Blake Shelton celebrated the Easter holiday by engaging in a heartfelt gardening activity at his expansive Oklahoma property. The couple planted daffodils at Shelton's 1,382-acre 10 Point Ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, sharing the festive moment with Stefani's large social media following.
Instagram Tribute to Easter
The 56-year-old No Doubt frontwoman, who boasts an impressive 37.2 million followers across social platforms, posted an Instagram video set to her 2024 song Empty Vase. In the caption, she wrote: 'Happy Easter! Sending love from a house full of daffodils.' The video showcased their Easter celebration, highlighting the couple's shared passion for gardening and family time.
Gardening as a Bonding Experience
In a 2022 interview with People magazine, the 49-year-old country singer revealed that gardening has become a significant bonding activity for the couple. 'I think our biggest bonding, as far as something that we do together besides music, has to be gardening,' Shelton explained. He added that they often go 'way over the top' with their gardening endeavors, spending considerable amounts on seeds from Amazon and various gardening centers.
Shelton humorously noted their extravagant approach: 'I mean, if there's a splurge that is embarrassing it would be how much we probably spend on seeds.' He described how boxes of seeds regularly arrive at their home, with the couple experimenting with exotic plants like Icelandic lilies. The singer emphasized that their time in Oklahoma allows them to escape public life and focus on family. 'We get away from everything and we're just us back there. You don't have to be anybody when we get to go back to Oklahoma,' he said.
Easter Decorations and Religious Elements
Following the planting, Stefani arranged fully grown spring flowers in vases throughout their home, complementing Easter bunny decorations. As a devout Catholic, she made sure to place one vase at the foot of a statue depicting the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus. This gesture aligns with her role as a brand ambassador for the prayer app Hallow, which counts investors like JD Vance and Peter Thiel among its backers.
Family Dynamics and Upcoming Projects
Notably absent from Stefani's Easter video were her three sons from her previous marriage to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12, were not featured in the celebration. Stefani's 13-year marriage to Rossdale ended in August 2015 amid allegations of infidelity involving a nanny.
The couple's relationship began two months after her divorce, when they met on the set of The Voice. At the time, Shelton had legally separated from his second ex-wife Miranda Lambert three months earlier. Looking ahead, both artists have busy schedules with Las Vegas residencies. Stefani and her No Doubt bandmates are set to kick off an 18-date residency at the Sphere Las Vegas on May 6. Similarly, Shelton will resume his own Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace on the same date, ensuring they won't have to spend extended periods apart.
Their Easter celebration not only highlighted their love for gardening but also underscored the importance of family and tradition in their lives. The daffodil planting at the Oklahoma ranch served as a symbolic and joyful way to mark the holiday, blending personal passions with festive spirit.
