Lily Allen Takes Toronto Break with Tommy Dorfman Before Concert Series
Singer Lily Allen, 40, made the most of a day off in Toronto this week, paying a visit to the iconic Niagara Falls and spending time with actor Tommy Dorfman, known for his role in 13 Reasons Why. The outing comes ahead of her scheduled performances at Massey Hall in Toronto on April 7 and 8, as part of her ongoing West End Girl tour, before she moves on to Boston on April 11.
Scenic Stops and Casual Catch-Ups
Allen shared glimpses of her leisurely day on social media, posting photos that captured her admiring the breathtaking views at Niagara Falls alongside a friend. In another snapshot, she was pictured enjoying a meal at a local café with Dorfman. For the casual meet-up, Allen opted for a stylish black turtleneck jumper, while Dorfman sported a brown jumper layered over a white T-shirt.
Accompanying the images, Allen wrote: 'What to do with a day off in Toronto', highlighting the relaxed nature of her pre-concert preparations. The pair have been friends for some time, having previously attended events together, such as the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner in New York last June.
Tour Background and Personal Reflections
The West End Girl tour supports Allen's latest album, which serves as an ode to her ex-husband, actor David Harbour, 50, and their acrimonious breakup. Despite the album's nomination in three categories at the 2026 BRIT Awards, Allen did not secure any wins during the ceremony.
Her split from Harbour, who stars in Stranger Things, came after she discovered he was using the celebrity dating app Raya. The aftermath led Allen to check herself into a trauma centre, as she revealed to friends she was nearing a nervous breakdown. During her stay at the US-based clinic, which costs approximately £8,000 per week, she participated in intensive group counselling and one-on-one therapy sessions.
Focus on Family and Healing
In a podcast episode following her time at the centre, Allen opened up about her decision to seek help, emphasising her commitment to her daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper. She admitted, 'I felt like it was getting harder and harder for me to be able to show up for them in the way that they need me to', and explained that taking time away was necessary to become a stronger parent.
Allen stressed that she did not want her children to feel responsible for supporting her through her emotional turmoil, stating, 'I don't want them to ever feel like they have to prop me up. None of this is their fault and it's my job to support them and make them feel safe and secure.' She acknowledged that while she may not be perfect, she is now in a stronger place to care for her family.
After facing challenges upon returning to the US, Allen announced a temporary break from her podcast to focus on her well-being and tour commitments. Her resilience and dedication to both her career and personal life continue to shape her journey as she performs across North America.
