Katie Price Defends Lucinda Strafford Amid Love Island All Stars Bullying Row
Katie Price Defends Lucinda in Love Island Bullying Row

Katie Price has made a passionate plea to fans of Love Island: All Stars, urging them to 'give Lucinda a break' as a fierce villa bullying row continues to escalate. The media personality took to Instagram to defend Lucinda Strafford, claiming her 'lovely, beautiful soul' is being overshadowed by the ongoing drama.

Villa Tensions Explode

The conflict centres on a bitter feud between Lucinda Strafford and Belle Hassan, which reached boiling point during Wednesday night's episode. The tension began when Lucinda stole Sean Stone from Belle, prompting a heated confrontation. Matters worsened when Belle subsequently made advances toward Scott van-der-Sluis, despite his existing coupling with Leanne Amaning.

Viewers watched as Belle pulled Scott for a private chat in the Secret Garden, leading Lucinda to intervene. This sparked a massive argument involving five islanders, with Belle shouting at Lucinda to 'f**k off' and 'keep her nose out of her business'. The confrontation culminated in Belle storming out of the villa, lying on the floor in distress before breaking down in tears with co-stars Whitney Adebayo and Samie Elishi.

Katie Price's Emotional Defence

In an Instagram Story video clip, Katie Price, 47, directly addressed the situation. 'I just have to say something, as I am watching Love Island: All Stars,' she began. 'I am absolutely loving it - but there are bits in it that I don't like, and I think there's a lot of bullying and stuff like that.'

Price specifically defended Lucinda, tagging her Instagram account and stating: 'You only see 45 minutes over a show that's edited over 24 hours. Lucinda is a smart girl, a lovely, beautiful soul. I've not even seen her laugh or be herself on the show. She's always sticking up for herself and involved in this and that. Remember, it's just TV at the end of the day.'

The former glamour model concluded: 'Just give her a break. She's a Brighton girl, a lovely girl, and she's full of sunshine - I just want to say that.'

Ofcom Complaints Mount

The ongoing drama has sparked significant viewer backlash, with the All Stars series receiving approximately 200 complaints to broadcast watchdog Ofcom. On February 6 alone, 120 complaints were registered, many citing Belle's conduct as their primary concern. This followed 53 complaints submitted after the February 3 episode, which featured a heated spat between Belle and Sean Stone in front of host Maya Jama.

The controversy reached another peak during Wednesday night's tense recoupling around the fire pit. Belle accused Lucinda of making sly digs during her speech, leading to another explosive confrontation where Belle shouted: 'What are you sticking your nose in for? Stop making every situation about you. Lucinda, f**k off, man, I'm not f**king doing this with you.'

Social Media Divided

The villa drama has divided viewers across social media platforms. Many have accused Belle of bullying behaviour, with one X user commenting: 'Belle is out of order for her behaviour against Lucinda. She hated her from the start and now is using Sean to not look like a bully.' Another added: 'I understand Belle being upset but there just comes to a point where they're just bullying Lucinda.'

However, some have defended Belle's actions, with one supporter writing: 'To say Belle is a bully is laughable. She stands her ground and shouts the loudest but that doesn't make her a bully.'

Family Intervention

Lucinda's mother has also entered the fray, defending her daughter online amid the escalating row. She posted on Instagram: 'That was a disgusting piece of TV. The production team should be ashamed of themselves. Lucinda didn't deserve to be violated like that. Disgusting. What a horrid crowd of people.'

The family released an official statement, emphasising: 'We just wanted to remind everyone that Love Island is a TV show. It's about exploring connections and being true to yourself, which is exactly what Lucinda is doing. The hate she's receiving is not okay on any level. Please remember that she will be coming out of the villa and seeing these comments.'

This latest controversy follows previous Ofcom complaints about the show, including 1,700 complaints related to the Scott van-der-Sluis and Sean Stone feud that left viewers uncomfortable with on-screen clashes.

Love Island: All Stars continues to air nightly at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with the villa drama showing no signs of abating as relationships are tested and tensions continue to simmer beneath the surface of this high-stakes reality television environment.
