Actor Jerry O'Connell has claimed his wife and daughters reacted physically after he made critical remarks about Kamala Harris's 2024 presidential campaign. Speaking on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast, the 52-year-old said he commented on the compressed nature of Harris's 107-day campaign, suggesting a primary should have been held.
O'Connell said his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and their twin 17-year-old daughters 'became physical with me' and were 'filled with rage' after his comments. He added that he lives in California with three people who would become 'very angry' if he made any jokes about the topic.
Maher responded by saying he could not live that way, stating he says what he truly thinks and would not 'shut the f*** up'. O'Connell also discussed how director Rob Reiner encouraged him to improvise on the set of Stand By Me, contrasting that with his current family dynamics.
The Independent has contacted Romijn's representative for comment. O'Connell recently appeared at the 2026 Oscars to pay tribute to Reiner, who was found stabbed to death alongside his wife in December 2025.
