Geordie Shore Finale Pulled After Music-Free Gaffe Sparks Fan Frenzy
Geordie Shore Finale Pulled After Music Gaffe

The highly anticipated finale of the new series of MTV's reality show Geordie Shore has been abruptly pulled from the Paramount+ streaming platform. This drastic action followed a wave of fan reactions after viewers spotted a significant technical error: the entire episode was broadcast without any background music whatsoever.

A Silent Celebration

The episode, filmed last year, was meant to showcase two major life events for the cast. It featured the emotional wedding ceremony of Kyle Christie and Vicky Turner, alongside the joyful moment where Marnie Simpson and her husband Casey Johnson welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Kixee Moon. However, these milestones were completely overshadowed by the bizarre audio omission.

Fan Reactions Go Viral

With the soundtrack missing, the programme consisted solely of raw dialogue and ambient noise. This created an unexpectedly stark and, for some, unsettling viewing experience. Fans quickly took to social media to express their bewilderment.

One viewer uploaded a clip from the episode to TikTok with the caption: 'Can someone tell me why the last episode of Geordie Shore has no music at all throughout?'

The post ignited a chain of comments from other fans who had noticed the same issue:

  • 'Thank god someone else noticed!'
  • 'Why is it so scary without music?'
  • 'It made me realise how little dialogue there actually is. Music is a massive filler which I never noticed before.'

The viral discussion highlighted how integral background music is to the show's atmosphere, with its absence revealing the sparse nature of the actual conversations.

Swift Removal and Cast Dynamics

In response to the fan uproar, the episode was swiftly removed from Paramount+. As of now, it has not been re-uploaded with corrected audio. A representative for Paramount+ has been contacted for comment regarding the editing gaffe and a potential re-release date.

The finale also highlighted ongoing cast dynamics. Holly Hagan made a return to Geordie Shore for this series, though notably, she was not invited to her ex Kyle Christie's wedding, which featured in the problematic episode.

Notable Absences and Behind-the-Scenes Drama

Conversely, fan favourites Sophie Kasaei and her boyfriend Jordan Brook were absent from the series. Reports indicate they decided to quit the show at the last minute, causing significant disruption.

A source told The Mirror: 'Sophie and Jordan pulled out last-minute, and it's caused mayhem. The rest of the cast are upset and confused – they feel it won't be the same without them. Nobody's quite sure what's gone on… it happened days before everyone was flying out to Portugal and it's the talk of the show.'

Sophie, an original cast member since the show's 2011 launch alongside stars like Charlotte Crosby and Vicky Pattison, had recently joined the rival ITV programme The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) in 2023, marking a first for a Geordie Shore star.

Production Rules Spark Frustration

Further behind-the-scenes details emerged regarding the filming of series 24 in Thailand. Producers imposed a rule that men and women must sleep in separate bedrooms during filming. This meant Sophie and Jordan, who have been dating since November 2022, could not share a bed or room.

Jordan explained to the Daily Star: 'We were there for a stag do, so the producers wanted the stags all staying together and the hens all staying together.'

Sophie added her frustration: 'There was a girls room and a boys room. We weren't allowed to stay in the same room, so we couldn't sleep next to each other and have sex.'

The couple reportedly begged producers to make an exception for them during the lavish getaway but were denied. Sophie noted, however, that this did not completely stop them from finding some intimate moments alone together off-camera.

The combination of a high-profile technical error, significant cast changes, and strict production rules has made this series one of the most talked-about in Geordie Shore's long history, culminating in a finale that fans heard in a way they never expected.
