Peacock is developing a television series adaptation of Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson's novel The Accomplice, which was published last month and co-written with Aaron Philip Clark.
Taraji P. Henson is attached to lead the drama, playing Texas Ranger Nia Adams. The story follows Adams as she pursues master thief Desmond Bell, whose target is one of America's wealthiest families. She uncovers a conspiracy that forces her to choose between exposing the truth and protecting the system she serves.
The project comes from UCP, with Jackson's G-Unit Films and Television and Henson's TPH Entertainment producing. Jackson and Henson will serve as non-writing executive producers; no writer is attached yet.
This development follows Henson's recent first-look deal with Fox Entertainment Studios. Jackson is also working on the British boxing drama Fightland at Starz, home to his Power franchise, and other projects including Hip Hop Cop at Hulu and a docuseries about Sean 'Diddy' Combs at Netflix.
