Hawkstone Farmers' Choir Releases Charity Record After Emotional BGT Audition

Jeremy Clarkson's farming choir, the Hawkstone Farmers' Choir, has released a charity record following their emotional audition on Britain's Got Talent, which moved viewers and the presenter himself to tears.

The 32-member choir, composed of agricultural workers from across the UK, secured Amanda Holden's Golden Buzzer during their audition, advancing directly to the live semi-finals. Now, they are channelling their newfound momentum into raising funds for mental health support within the farming community.

The group has released a vinyl record titled 'The Banned One', priced at £7.50, with all profits going to the mental health charity Shout ahead of Mental Health Awareness Week in May. The record is available via the Hawkstone website.

The choir was initially assembled by Clarkson for an advert promoting his Hawkstone beer range. It is now managed by farmers Simon Gwilliam and Lizzy Dean and has evolved into a nationwide collective highlighting the challenges and camaraderie of rural life.

Victoria Hornby, chief executive of Shout, praised the initiative, stating: 'The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir has given an incredible voice to the mental health challenges faced by so many in the agricultural community. The funds raised from this vinyl will be vital, enabling us to train more volunteers and be there for anyone in the farming community who is struggling to cope. It will save lives.'

Clarkson, who watched the audition from home, admitted he was deeply moved. 'I actually welled up… thank you Amanda Holden for pressing that Golden Buzzer. It shows that I think people quite like farmers,' he said in a video shared on Instagram.
