Andy Murray will return to tennis as part of Jack Draper's coaching team for the grass-court season, following Draper's split with coach Jamie Delgado. The 24-year-old British No. 1 announced the change on Tuesday, expressing gratitude for Delgado's work over the past six months.
Draper, who has struggled with injuries including a bone bruise on his left arm and a knee problem, is scheduled to return at the start of the grass-court season. He has never progressed beyond the second round at Wimbledon, while Murray is a two-time champion at the All England Club.
The pair have a close relationship, having trained together and competed as Olympic and Davis Cup teammates. Draper beat Murray in their only ATP Tour meeting at Indian Wells in 2023. This will be Murray's second coaching role since retiring in 2024, following a stint with Novak Djokovic.
In other tennis news, Jannik Sinner defeated Andrea Pellegrino 6-2, 6-3 at the Italian Open to equal Novak Djokovic's record of 31 consecutive Masters victories. Alexander Zverev was among the seeds to fall, losing to Luciano Darderi despite holding four match points.
