Tess Daly, 56, Reveals Secret to Fitting into Her 20s Jeans

Tess Daly has revealed that she still fits into the same jeans she wore in her 20s, attributing her youthful energy and physique to daily planks and a balanced diet. The 56-year-old Strictly Come Dancing host told Top Santé magazine that she has never dieted, instead focusing on moderation and core strength.

“I’m wearing the same size jeans I was wearing in my 20s, but that’s not from dieting, it’s from maintaining,” she said. “I’ve never dieted, and as a mother of daughters, I’ve always been very careful not to demonise sugar and not count calories.” Daly, who has two daughters with husband Vernon Kay, emphasised the importance of a healthy relationship with food.

The presenter, who was recently made an MBE for services to broadcasting, said she does planks every day to support her back, especially as she is tall and often wears heels. “I’m in my 50s, and I genuinely feel I have the same energy as I did in my 20s,” she added.

Daly also revealed that she enjoys singing and dancing around the kitchen to Rihanna, describing it as a mood booster. However, she admitted to a near-embarrassing moment when her teenage daughter warned her against making her karaoke performances public on an app.

In addition to her TV career, Daly is co-founder of swimwear brand NAIA Beach, which she launched four years ago with her best friend. She said she works until 11pm every night on the brand, which started because she couldn’t find swimwear that made her feel confident.
