Shaughna Phillips, the 31-year-old Love Island star, has publicly revealed an impressive weight loss of 9kg over a four-month period. She showcased her transformation through new before-and-after videos on Instagram, detailing her commitment to a rigorous fitness regimen and healthy eating habits.
Consistent Gym Routine and Dietary Focus
In an update shared online, Shaughna explained that she began her latest fitness journey in January, committing to gym sessions three to four times per week. She emphasised that this routine is non-negotiable, even on days when motivation wanes. Her diet has been overhauled to focus on a protein-rich intake, with 90% of her meals being free from ultra-processed foods. She stated, 'I’m roughly half way to where I want to be. I’ve lost 20lb since Sofia’s birth, I’ve been the most consistent I’ve ever been in my life!'
Motivation and Personal Goals
Shaughna's primary motivation for her weight loss is to ensure she can care for her two daughters, Lucia and Sofia, in emergency situations. She outlined her fitness goals, saying, 'Can I pick both of my kids up in an emergency if I need to? Can I run to my kids and get to them as quickly as possible?' She also humorously added a goal about self-defence. The TV personality proudly displayed her cellulite and discussed managing a lipoedema flare-up in her arms, vowing not to let it undermine her progress.
Previous Weight Loss Achievements
This recent update follows Shaughna's earlier weight loss success, where she lost five and a half stone over 14 months after the births of her children. In January, she shared a throwback video in a pink bikini, revealing she dropped from 97kg to 61kg, a transformation that reduced her dress size by five. She promoted her 'Shred It Plan' workout regimen, which she credits for her dramatic results, and emphasised it was not a quick fix.
Addressing Critics and Natural Methods
Shaughna has faced speculation from trolls suggesting she used weight loss jabs like Ozempic. She firmly denied these claims, asserting her weight loss was achieved naturally through diet and exercise. In a previous Instagram post, she wrote, 'NO-zempic here guys! Just an incredible eating and exercise plan.' She highlighted that her journey took over a year and involved nutritional guidance, not injections or pills, and acknowledged having loose skin as a result of her significant weight loss and childbirth.
