In a remarkably candid move, Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles has publicly shared comprehensive details about her recent breast augmentation surgery, following a similar revelation made by Kylie Jenner earlier this year.
From Inspiration to Operation: The Surgical Details
The 28-year-old athlete, who boasts an incredible 11 Olympic medals, took to TikTok to explain her decision to undergo the procedure on June 16. Speaking directly to her 5.5 million followers from a bathroom, Biles disclosed that her surgery was performed in Houston, Texas, by Dr. Kriti Mohan.
Biles revealed that she brought 'inspiration photos' to her consultation, and together with Dr. Mohan, decided that placing the implants 'under the muscle' would achieve the most natural-looking result. Addressing the question she said 'everybody wants to know', the gymnast specified her implant size as '310, high profile, extra filled, silicone'.
She admitted she had initially hoped for larger 330 implants but confirmed they 'wouldn't fit' her frame. For reference, Biles noted her stature, stating: 'I am 4ft 8in tall and I'm 108lbs and I also have very broad shoulders, my shoulders are quite literally the biggest part of my body'.
A More Difficult Than Expected Recovery
Moving on to discuss her post-operative experience, Biles expressed surprise at the intensity of her recovery, contradicting accounts from others who described their experiences as straightforward.
'You all lied, this s*** hurts so bad', the athlete confessed in her video. 'Your girl could not move by herself. So I did take the full two weeks and I am glad I did because my recovery was rough.'
Biles described requiring significant assistance from her husband, Jonathan Owens, who plays for the Chicago Bears NFL team. 'The very first day, Jonathan had to lift me up out of bed, physically lift me out of bed and take me to the restroom,' she shared.
The gymnast theorised that her muscular physique might have contributed to the challenging recovery: 'I am assuming that I am a little bit more muscular than most girls who get them done and that under the muscle and kind of doing all of that work really hurt my body.'
Biles also experienced initial panic about her new appearance, admitting: 'They were up to my neck and I did freak out and I did talk to my doctor. I said take them out, they need to be smaller, they look like aliens. But now they are perfect.'
