WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross, 74, announced he will undergo brain surgery to remove fluid buildup around his brain, which has caused memory loss and other symptoms. The legendary commentator revealed the news on his 'Grilling JR' podcast, calling the procedure an 'adventure' but emphasizing its necessity.
Symptoms and Hospitalization
Ross described his symptoms as 'horrible,' including memory loss and fainting episodes. He previously spent 40 days in the hospital for the same condition. 'I couldn't live my life the way it was,' Ross said. 'I forget stuff and just couldn't remember things.'
The Surgery
The surgery involves placing a shunt to drain fluid from his brain. Ross explained, 'It'll go from my brain... to get that fluid off my brain that's making me not remember stuff.' He acknowledged the seriousness, stating, 'They open your skull up... it's a serious piece of business.'
Recovery and Impact
Ross expects a short hospital stay followed by recovery at home. He has cut back on TV appearances due to his condition but plans to attend an event in Minneapolis. 'I feel pretty good,' he said. 'I'm getting better every day but still got a ways to go.'
