
Health officials have issued an urgent nationwide recall for a popular Amish-style cheese product amid fears it could be contaminated with dangerous listeria bacteria.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned consumers not to eat Old Country Amish-Style Raw Milk Cheese, which is sold in 200g blocks with specific batch codes and use-by dates.

If you have purchased this product:
- Do not consume the cheese under any circumstances
- Return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund

Understanding the Risks
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness, particularly in vulnerable groups including:
- Pregnant women and their unborn babies
- Elderly individuals
- People with weakened immune systems
- Young children
Symptoms of listeria infection can include high temperature, muscle aches, vomiting, and diarrhoea. In severe cases, it can lead to meningitis and other life-threatening complications.
