Anne Diamond shared an emotional update on Eamonn Holmes' health at the TRIC Awards, revealing that the GB News presenter is recovering and hopes to be back on air soon. Holmes was unable to attend the ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Anne Diamond's Update
Taking to the stage, Diamond said: "There are a couple of people who would love to be here but can't. Eamonn Holmes is not very well at the moment but he is doing well, he is recovering and we hope he will be back with us very soon."
GB News Wins Best News Programme
GB News claimed the Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year. Last year, Holmes accepted the award for Best News but faced heckling from some audience members. Using a wheelchair ramp to reach the stage, he thanked the production team and viewers, though audible booing followed the announcement of GB News Breakfast's victory, according to the Mirror.
Holmes' Health Challenges
The 66-year-old presenter has faced ongoing health issues, including a stroke in April, after which he reassured fans he was alright. In 2016, he underwent hip operations but fell down stairs at home, breaking his shoulder. He later developed a viral infection causing a facial rash and vision risk, which he linked to stress from a tax dispute with HMRC. In May 2022, spinal complications led to bladder and bowel problems and a nine-day hospital stay. In November 2022, another fall broke his shoulder, requiring surgery. He continues exploring treatments like spinal injections and stem cell therapy to restore mobility.
